Christian's Journal Entry for Day 30 : We woke up and were driven to the centre to pick up our bags and meet Tanya who would accompany us to Kiev on train. The arrangement was made for us and Taya tagged along because she lives there.We got into Kiev without incident and waited for Dan in the centre of town just next to the train station. Taya quietly disappeared for a while and brought back a jug of water for all of us.

Taya seemed like an incredible girl who thought about every detail but was shy and didn’t accept any crossing thank you. She seemed to always be in the background helping, cooking, taking picture and taking care of us. She didn’t talk much but there was an....click here to read more


Emmanuelle's Journal Entry for Day 30 : It was an early start today because we had to take the electrichka, a sort of local train to go to Kiev to meet with Dan. Tatiana, Taia and Natascha all came with her, they wanted to make sure we were going to arrive in Kiev safely. How sweet of them to take care of us like this.

On the train, a couple of people were selling all kinds of goods. Apparently this is not unusual but to me it was a little bit strange. I could not imagine this sort of practice business in Switzerland.We arrived in Kiev half hour later. It was a little bit of shock for me to see the big buildings of the city after spending so much time in little towns and villages. Again, traffic and people there reminded me how much I don't like big cities......click here to read more
